The Basics of What We Believe
The Bible is the foundation book written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
2 Tim 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
The Israelites are God's chosen people.
Deut 14:2 - For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
Amos 3:2 - You only have I known of all the families of the earth.
The 7th Day Sabbath is God’s recognized day of Rest.
Gen 2:2 - And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 - And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
The Statutes commanding the observance of the Holy Days are still valid.
Lev 23:4 - These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
Lev 16:29 - And this shall be a statute forever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that soujourneth among you:
Lev 16:31 - It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute forever.
The Dietary Laws are still valid.
Deut 14:3 - Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
Deut 14:4 - These are the beasts which ye shall eat:
Acts 10:15 - What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common...referred to God’s people, not meats.
Jesus (Yahshua) is God embodied in flesh.
John 10:30 - I and my Father are one
John 5:43 - I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not . . .
John 14:9 - Jesus saith unto him,..he that hath seen me hath seen the Father . . .
I John 5:7 - For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Water baptism
Mark 1:4 - John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Indwelling of the Holy Spirit
Acts 2:4 - And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Matt 3:11 - I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
Acts 8:14-15 - Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost...
Acts 8:17 - Then laid they their hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost.
Gifts of the Spirit
I Cor 12:8 - For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit.
I Cor 12:9 - To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
I Cor 12:10 - To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.
Resurrection of the dead
I Cor 15:51- Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.
I Cor 15:52 - In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be raised.
I Cor 15:53 - For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
I Thess 4:16 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise.
Everlasting Life for Believers
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:36 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Rom 6:22 - But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
The “Law” was not completely abolished;
Matt 5:17 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
The "Great Commandment" for example, is found both in Matt 22:37-39...Thou shall love the Lord thy God...and Deut 6:5.
There was more than one law
The Ten Commandments was a Law - Exodus 24:12
Moses made laws to regulate the daily activities of Israel - Deuteronomy 4:14
God gave Moses Statutes which were Laws.
The Laws that were "blotted out and nailed to the cross, (Col 2:14), are found in Deut 31:24-26
