What We Believe

The Basics of What We Believe

The Bible is the foundation book written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
2 Tim 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

The Israelites are God's chosen people.

Deut 14:2 - For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

The Statutes commanding the observance of the Holy Days are still valid.

Lev 16:29 - And this shall be a statute forever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that soujourneth among you:
Lev 16:31 - It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute forever.

The Dietary Laws are still valid.

Indwelling of the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:4 - And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Matt 3:11 - I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

The “Law” was not completely abolished;

Matt 5:17 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
The "Great Commandment" for example, is found both in Matt 22:37-39...Thou shall love the Lord thy God...and Deut 6:5.

There was more than one law

The Ten Commandments was a Law - Exodus 24:12
Moses made laws to regulate the daily activities of Israel - Deuteronomy 4:14
God gave Moses Statutes which were Laws.

The Laws that were "blotted out and nailed to the cross, (Col 2:14), are found in Deut 31:24-26
